All Krystle Platzer wanted was a bacon, egg and cheese croissant. What she got? A bacon, egg and cheese croissant...full of worms, larvae and dead flies. Taking to Facebook, Platzer showed pics and a video of the food, with a warning for customers of the Dunkin location on Route 88 in Lakewood, New Jersey to “check your food.”
Apparently, Platzer’s child had already eaten most of the same sandwich she ordered, but luckily didn’t get sick. Platzer, on the other hand, admits to ‘losing her lunch’ when she realized what she’d swallowed.
A spokesperson for the company has assured that they have since sent a certified operations manager to “confirm all food safety and quality standards” are being met by the store. "We take matters such as this very seriously," says company spokeswoman Olivia White. "The franchisee who owns and operates the store has confirmed he has met with the guest to resolve the matter and apologize for the poor experience."
