Miss Michigan Emily Sioma didn't advance to the top 15 in the Miss America pageant, but she did get a lot of attention in her opening remarks last night. Sioma called attention to the Flint water crisis by introducing herself as being from the state with 84-percent of the freshwater in the United States, but none for its residents to drink. The remark by the University of Michigan graduate lit up social media, with support coming from many including Hunger Games author Jennifer Mendelsohn. Miss New York, Nia Franklin, was crowned this year's Miss America.
