Animal Crackers Freed After 116 Years Behind Bars

Animal crackers are no longer caged.  The packaging of Barnum's Animals from Nabisco has depicted the circus Animals inside as behind bars for decades, but no longer.  The change comes after a campaign from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals aimed at Nabisco and its parent company, Mondelez International, highlighting the brutal conditions some circuses employ to get their Animals to perform tricks.  The crackers themselves have outlasted the actual Barnum and Bailey Circus and Ringling Brothers, which shut down last year after 146 years.
