The Howe Ridge Fire burning in Glacier National Park is now the largest in Montana. Fire officials reported late last night the fire had grown to over 78-hundred acres, more than doubling in size over the weekend. Several structures in the Park have already been destroyed by the more than week old blaze. The Davis Fire burning year Yaak grew to just over six-thousand acres while the Garden Creek Fire near Hot Springs remains steady at just over two-thousand acres.
Justin Bilton and his father Charlie were camping in the area when the wildfire started. The two tried to escape by their car, but were forced back. They were eventually rescued by park employees.
