Strangers Form Chain to Rescue Swimmers From Deadly Rip Tides

Rough swimming conditions in Lake Michigan have claimed two lives and have three others hospitalized after people formed human chains to pull them out of the water in Grand Haven.  Grand Haven City Beach and the pier at Grand Haven State Park were closed yesterday afternoon after the rescues.  One of the victims who died was 64-year-old David Knaffle of Wyoming, while the other was a 20-year-old man from Lansing who was found just five feet from shore.
