New Invasive Tick Species Found In Pennsylvania

The longhorned tick is now a resident of Pennsylvania.  The invasive species, native to Asian countries, was recently found stuck on a deer in Centre County according to state officials.  The arachnid had been found in five New Jersey counties since last winter, including one that was attached to a child in Bergen County.  It is known to carry disease, but as of yet there haven't been any confirmed cases of the tick infecting a human with anything dangerous.
