A new shopping center is planned along North Fifth Street Highway. This week, the Muhlenberg Township commissioners approved plans for a "mini-mall" across from the Target shopping center. The mini-mall will include three restaurants including Berks County's first "MOD Pizza" as well as a credit union, Chick-Fil-A and Panera Bread. Developers say they plan to break ground in the next couple of months. They say they hope to open the center next summer.
