Injuries from metal objects in the food are prompting a recall of nearly a quarter-million pounds of Spam and another lunch loaf product. The products are made by Minnesota-based Hormel at the company's Fremont, Nebraska plant between February 8th and 10th. The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service was notified Friday after customers filed four complaints about metal in their canned meats. Food safety officials are recommending people throw away or return affected items to the store for a refund.
