They are a survivor driven organization that provides hope, information, and emotional support to every person affected by breast cancer. Each year 300 women and 1 to 5 men will be diagnosed in Berks County. A breast cancer diagnosis can dramatically change one’s life and that is when Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County steps in. “Don’t miss Reading Hospital’s Mobile Mammography Coach, sponsored by the Reading Hospital Foundation, as it travels to a community near you. A screening mammogram is one of the best methods of early detection for breast cancer.
Women can face several barriers when attempting to access preventative care, including inconvenient scheduling hours, childcare, and lack of transportation. Reading Hospital’s Mobile Mammography Coach, sponsored by the Reading Hospital Foundation, helps reduce those barriers by making it quick, easy, and convenient to access these life-saving screenings.
A mammography screening on the coach takes only 15 minutes! The Mobile Mammography Coach is outfitted with the same state-of-the-art technology – 3D tomosynthesis – found at any of our breast imaging centers. The technology improves the accuracy of imaging, reduces unnecessary call backs visits, and enables providers to detect more invasive cancers.
