Many up and coming artists understand what it's like to play for a tough crowd, but not many can say they have been pelted with fruit. Zara Larsson can, however, and it makes for a hilarious story.
The Midnight Sun singer shared a TikTok video on Wednesday (March 4) detailing the incident after a fan shared a clip of her performing her song "Lush Life" at a radio station event years ago, per People. While stitching the original video, Larsson quipped that it was "iconic" and "so funny" that the event was immortalized on tape" because I will never forget this performance."
What exactly makes the performance so memorable? The fact that some young members of the crowd were throwing grapes at her while she sang on stage.
"Listen, I've been on every stage. I have been outside of an IKEA parking lot, five people in the crowd, every mall, schools, high schools, elementary schools, colleges. Like, if there was a stage and an opportunity to perform, hey, it's what I do, you know?" she explained through laughter. "But this day, these f---ing kids in the back. They were throwing grapes at me, and it felt so medieval. It felt like ducking tomatoes up there on this tiny stage with the radio station that I was there with."
The Swedish singer-songwriter has moved past dodging tossed fruit while performing to bringing fans on stage to dance along to her music, much to the delight of the crowd. In December, her "Lush Girl" was actually a "Lush Boy" after "Ordinary" singer Alex Warren showed off his dance moves while nailing the choreography for her song "Lush Life."
