Tons of Washington football nickname options have been trademarked already

So, the NFL franchise in Washington has officially announce that "Redskins" has been retired, but they are still working out what to call themselves going forward. There has been a lot of speculation online about what name they will use. It did seem weird to announce they were retiring one name without having the other ready to go. Apparently that's because they are fighting over the trademark with another party.

How is that possible? Well, there is one (opportunistic) dude in Virginia who has trademarked dozens of potential names himself. Yep, you read that right. He beat the team to the trademarks for names like the Washington Warriors, Monuments, Arrows, Veterans, Pandas, Founders, Federals, Red-Tailed Hawks and more.

Can I just say that the idea of Daniel Snyder and the team fighting with this guy over a name for their franchise is hysterical to me? How did you get this far into the process and you didn't have a trademark locked up? Just wow.
