Kelly Preston has died. The 57-year-old succumbed to breast cancer yesterday. According to a family representative, she’d been battling the disease in private. “She had been undergoing medical treatment for some time, supported by her closest family and friends,” the rep explained. “She was a bright, beautiful, and loving soul who cared deeply about others and who brought life to everything she touched. Her family asks for your understanding of their need for privacy at this time.”
Kelly got her start in minor TV roles before her breakout movie role in 1985’s “Mischief.” Her other credits include “Jerry Maguire,” “For the Love of the Game,” and “SpaceCamp.” Her final role was in 2018’s “Gotti,” where she played Victoria Gotti, wife of Mafia boss, John Gotti, opposite her husband, John Travolta.
In addition to John, she’s survived by their children, 20-year-old Ella and nine-year-old Benjamin. Their other son, Jett, died at age 16 in 2009.
John shared a heartfelt tribute to his wife on Instagram. After thanking everyone from the doctors to their friends and family for their support, he said, “Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered. I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while.”
