Firefighter Faces Suspension for Trying to Save 95-Year-Old Woman

An Atlanta firefighter is facing suspension for allegedly failing to follow procedure while rushing into a burning home. Captain Daniel Thomas Dwyer entered a home by himself on Collier Drive last June in an attempt to save an elderly woman. He's been suspended for four days for running in for the rescue without waiting on the rest of his search team, which is in violation of department policy. Eleven Alive reports Dwyer is appealing the suspension.
