After completing radiation treatment for breast cancer, Darla Jaye was so excited to be finished and to ring the “cancer-free bell” at her hospital, she accidentally broke it. The Texas woman was beaming as she rang it and kept going until the clapper broke off.
“I never imagined that I would make it through those 30 treatments and be able to ring that bell,” Jaye explains. When she finally got to ring it, her excitement took over and she says, “I was celebrating that I was alive and that I was essentially done for now.
