Girl With Cancer In Remission Donates Her Bday Gifts To Sick Kids

For her eighth birthday,Zoe Figueroadidn’t ask for a bunch of toys for herself, instead she wanted friends and family to donate toys to the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. It may seem like a strange request for a kid, but that’s where she received treatment for her cancer, which is now in remission.

The third-grader from Lakeside, California, recently finished up her final treatment for stage 4 neuroblastoma and told her parents she wanted to give back to other sick kids in the hospital. Her loved ones were happy to oblige, donating 200 gifts and raising $750 for local neuroblastoma charities.

“Zoe is remarkable,” says her mom,SheenaFigueroa. “She said to me, ‘I have everything I need.’”
