The New 007 is a WOMAN!?

Now we know why Idris Elba couldn’t be the next James Bond. Apparently, the franchise waslooking for a woman. British star Lashana Lynch will become the next Agent Double-O-Seven. Please note – the new character is NOT the next Bond. She’ll just be taking over the secret agent number of the Daniel Craig incarnation of Bond when he leaves M16.

According to a movie insider, the 25th installment begins with Bond retired in Jamaica. But spymaster M – played by Ralph Fiennes – calls him back in desperation to tackle a new global crisis. “There is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M says ‘Come in 007,’ and in walks Lashana who is Black, beautiful, and a woman.” He’s attracted to her, but she turns him down…at least in the beginning.

We have Phoebe Waller-Bridgeto thank for this change. Apparently, the TV writer was recruited to modernize the 57-year-old franchise. One other change is that Bond girls will now be referred to as Bond women. The film is currently being shot in Italy and the UK.
