Toddler Wakes Up From Coma After Devastated Family Turns Off Life Support

A two-year-old boy in England woke up from a coma just minutes after his parents agreed to turn off his life support. Dylan Askin was diagnosed with the extremely rare pulmonary Langerhans cell histiocytosis two years ago and recently his lungs were barely functioning.

On Good Friday, Dylan’s doctors told his parents things were looking bleak that they wouldn’t get him back. So they had him christened, and his family came to say goodbye to the toddler. But as medics withdrew his medication, his heart rate dropped to normal levels, his oxygen levels started to improve and he was awake.

By Easter Sunday, Dylan had gained back enough strength that he was allowed to go home again. His mother, Kerry, says, “Dylan was our Easter miracle.”
