Toys R Us is hoping to begin going out of business sales today. Many stores do not expect the sale to last long because they have not been receiving large shipments for some time. They expect the sale to be finished my June.
Meanwhile, Reports say Amazon is looking into re-purposing old Toys-R-Us stores as their own. Bloomberg reports there are private talks that would have the retail giant moving into the bankrupt firm's locations after the Toys are off the shelves. The sources declined to be identified. Such a move would expand Amazon's brick-and-mortar presence even more than the recent acquisition of Whole Foods Markets.
