The northern white rhinoceros is a step closer to extinction with the death of the world's last male northern white rhino. The 45-year-old rhino named Sudan died yesterday at a conservancy in Kenya, where he'd been kept since 2009. Veterinarians say Sudan's health had gotten worse in recent weeks because of a serious leg infection. The rhino was no longer able to stand and his veterinary team decided to euthanize him.
