A bakery in Germany is selling cakes just like grandma used to make, because they’re hiring workers over the age of 65. The Kuchentratschbakery in Munich has 35 senior men and women baking for them part time and they seem to love what they do.
Bakery owner Katharina Mayer says the business was designed to give older people flexible employment and help them earn extra money and get out and engage with people. The jobs are a type of part-time employment called a “mini job” in Germany, and it allows these seniors to earn the max amount before income tax would be applied, making it a pretty sweet job all around.
