Heavy snow and freezing weather caused a standstill in much of Scotland last week, but that didn’t stop consultant surgeon Lindsey Chisholm from getting to the hospital. She trekked eight miles from her home in Glasgow to get there so she could operate on a cancer patient.
Dr. Chisholm says she “didn’t think it was a big deal,” but patient Iain McAndrew says it was “truly amazing” that she worked so hard to get there for his surgery. “When she walked in my heart took a wee jump,” he says. “I thought it was amazing. If there is a real-life superwoman, she is it.”
