Army Vet Police Officer Killed After 911 Call Sent Him To Wrong Address

Clinton Officer Christopher Morton and shooting suspect James Waters died after a gunfight involving dozens of officers. It started after a 911 dispatcher took a call where two women could be heard screaming. The police were sent to Waters' residence in Clinton although it turns out the 911 call was made from a home 15 miles away. Only after the fact did investigators learn that. The person making the call had no connection to Waters.

The shooting started after the officers went into the house to make sure everyone was safe. Two other officers were wounded but are expected to survive. The suspect's daughter says her father had a criminal record and likely feared the police were there to take him back to prison. Waters killed himself and was later found inside by a SWAT team.Source: KCTV
