Daily Do Good: Fifth Grader Saves Choking Classmate

When fifth-grader Benjamin Ford saw a classmate gasping for breath and turning colors, he knew exactly what to do and jumped into action to help. He was able to save the choking student using skills he learned watching a documentary years ago.

Greenwood Elementary School officials say Benjamin had all the right moves, but he admits he was a little nervous. “I wasn’t really calm,” he says. “My heart was racing, I just knew I had to help her.”
