Daily Do Good: This 12-Year-Old Girl Won’t Stop Picking Up Trash

A 12-year-old girl in Norwich, England loves cleaning up the environment and picking up trash so much, that being bullied for it hasn’t stopped her dedication to cleaning up the planet. Nadia Sparkes has been collecting garbage on her two-mile bike ride to and from school since last September and mean kids at her school started calling her “Trash Girl” as a result.

But instead of letting the bullies force her to stop, Nadia is letting their negativity motivate her. She’s owning “Trash Girl” and putting a positive spin on it.

"I'm not going to stop doing the right thing because of them, and if they are going to call me Trash Girl, they can say it with respect," Nadia explains. "I'm doing something to protect the world they also live in. It's everyone's job. We are all responsible for keeping this world safe, instead of believing that it's always someone else's job."
