Daily Do Good: Boy Tries To Save Christmas For Kids In Puerto Rico

When eight-year-old Jayden Perez told his mom that he wanted to give his Christmas presents to the kids affected by hurricanes, she gave him the idea to raise the bar and have a toy drive instead. His mom, Ana Rosadoposted a video of Jayden on Facebook requesting toy donations and they started rolling in.

His toy drive has received more than 1,000 toys so far and they’re still coming. NBA Manager Brandon Eddy saw the story and sent 11 boxes full of toys and another guy said he had a truck load from his community to donate. Jayden and his mom are flying to Puerto Rico to deliver the toys to small cities hit hard by Maria and they’re bringing some to an orphanage that asked for help.

"Words can’t explain the gratitude I have towards all the toy donations being shipped to me," Rosado writes on Facebook. "I am overwhelmed with so much joy and happiness."
