When a homeless man in Connecticut found a check, he didn’t try to keep it or cash it, even though it was a big one. Elmer Alvarez found and returned a $10,000 check because he says he wanted to “do the right thing.”
Alvarez located and returned the check before real estate agent Roberts Hoskie even realized she lost the check. When she went to meet him to get the check back, she learned he was homeless and having once been in that situation herself, she wanted to help him out.
Hoskie gave Alvarez another check as a reward for his good deed. He says he’s working on putting his life back together and finding a job and she plans to help him by giving him free classes at her real estate school.
