Daily Do Good: Cops Hand Out Turkeys Instead Of Tickets

Some motorists in Billings, Montana were surprised to get a turkey instead of a ticket. Police officers have been giving the birds away when they pulled folks over for minor traffic violations, thanks to a donation of 20 turkeys from an anonymous local businessman.

Instead of getting a ticket for a broken tail light or for driving a few miles over the speed limit, drivers were grateful to get off with a warning and their Thanksgiving main course, rather than a ticket. "The individuals that received the warnings and the turkeys have been very happy," Lieutenant Neil Lawrence says. "Our Facebook page has received a lot of positive comments regarding it. So far it’s been a very positive thing for the community."
