DDG: Hurricane Shopper Gives Last Generator To Fellow Customer In Need

We’re always happy to tell you about tough times bringing out the best in people and one generous customer at a Lowe’s in Orlando is a perfect example. While everyone is scrambling to get supplies ahead of Hurricane Irma, a man put a fellow shopper ahead of his own needs.

This Lowe’s store was fortunate to get a shipment of 216 generators at 7 a.m. yesterday and Pam Brekke drove nearly 30 miles to get one of them after searching for days. Sadly, the last one was sold to the customer next to her. The disappointment caused her to burst into tears because her father is on oxygen and she really needed that backup generator.

But when another customer, Ramon Santiago, saw her break down, he insisted she take the generator he was going to buy. The strangers hugged and went on with their shopping. And of course, Brekke was grateful for his kindness.

"I'm very overwhelmed by that man," she says. "That gentleman was a great gentleman right there. God will bless that man."
