Daily Do Good: Officer Helps Four-Year-Old Girl Search For Monsters

When her family moved into a new house in Longmont, Colorado, four-year-old Sidney Fahrenbruch was worried the home was full of monsters. So when the little girl met Officer David Bonday with the Longmont Police Department at a community event recently, she asked for his help checking the house out.

Sidney wants to be a police officer herself one day, so she was thrilled that Bonday agreed to come investigate her house with her. The two of them checked under couches, even under the cushions, and inspected the house from top to bottom. Bonday even let Sidney borrow his flashlight, but they didn’t find a single monster.

“It’s just amazing the confidence he’s given her,” mom Megan Fahrenbruch says. “We’re truly grateful to live in a town where the police officer will pay a kid any attention.”
