It will cost more money to drive on the Pennsylvania Turnpike next year. The Turnpike Commission says it is raising tolls by six percent. The increase is for E-Z pass users and folks who pay with cash. Officials say the hike is necessary to fund road work. They also say they have to make annual payments to PennDOT. Pennsylvania's auditor general is now calling on lawmakers to stop those payments. He says as long as the commission has to pay PennDOT, the tolls will keep going up.
