Christopher Garrett received medical discharge from the Army after being shot in the stomach. He struggled to do normal household chores like mowing the grass. One day his wife was surprised to see him outside crying. When she went out to check on him, she saw a brand new John Deere riding mower. A neighbor saw Christopher struggling to mow the lawn with a push mower and anonymously surprised him with a John Deere riding mower. A note was left with the mower that read "‘I hope this saves time for the things that matter most in your life. Thank you for your service and for my freedom. Sincerely, A grateful American.”
