Doctors Warn Against the Birth Trend that Could Cause Infection in Newborns

Some parents are choosing the "lotus birth" method where the placenta stays attached to a newborn for up to 10 days after birth until it naturally falls off.  Advocates say it is a more "natural" option and makes the transition from womb to world easier for babies. Doctors warn that leaving the placenta attached for this long can cause infections in the baby.
