Thanks to the quick thinking of one South Carolina school bus driver, a terrible tragedy was avoided. Teresa Stroble was dropping off 56 kids at their bus stops this week when two kids in the back told her there was smoke coming from inside the bus.
She pulled over and got all of the students off the bus and led them to safety. And just seconds later, the vehicle burst into flames. But because of her fast reaction, no one was hurt.
The superintendent of the school district, Scott Turner, praised Stroble on Twitter after the fire. “Hero!!! Ms. Teresa Stroble … evacuated 56 students in under a minute,” he tweeted. “God bless her. So grateful for her quick action.”
