When Jake Bowers was driving his family to a park in Worthington, Ohio last week, he saw a bag on the side of the road. He went to check it out because he thought it had someone’s laptop inside, but it was actually filled with $100 bills!
Bowers did the right thing and turned the money-filled bag into the Worthington police station. He says he was trying to set a good example for his kids by bringing in $14,000.
The police were able to find the rightful owner and return the cash to him. It turns out, the money was going to be used to buy a car, but the owner drove off after leaving the bag on the car. Thankfully, Bowers is an honest man and was in the right place at the right time to find it.
