Daily Do Good: Good Samaritan Offers Help Then Builds Ramp For Amputee

Don Austin had been recovering from a partial leg amputation in the hospital and was happy to finally be back home again. But as he got to the front steps of his home, he realized he didn’t have the strength or balance to make it up the steps. And his wife, Jennifer, wasn’t strong enough to lift him up.

But as he was feeling defeated, a stranger drove past and saw him struggling, so he stopped to offer help. A man named Steve helped get Don inside and Jennifer called him an angel for his act random act of kindness. The thing is - this stranger wasn’t done helping.

The next day this good samaritan returned, and brought more sets of hands to help. Steve is a welder and he and his crew built a wheelchair ramp to the Austin’s front door. "Brought Don, his mom, his nurse and myself to tears," Jennifer writes on Facebook. "We just couldn't believe it. Wow. To be on the receiving end of such kindness is so humbling."
