Daily Do Good: People Form Human Chain To Rescue Swimmers From Surf In Argentina

People enjoying a day in the sun on a beach in Buenos Aires, Argentina came together to help three swimmers who couldn’t get away from the ocean’s strong undercurrents. Lifeguards saw the trio struggling in the water, so they went to save them, but huge waves kept them from being able to attempt a rescue.

So beachgoers jumped up and formed a human chain to pull the lifeguards and swimmers back to shore safely. Thankfully everyone was okay after the terrifying ordeal.

“After eight minutes and with the participation of some lifeguards we got them out of there safely,” Lifeguard Carolina Uriarte says of the rescue. “Thanks colleagues and congratulations for your good job.”
