Get Free Books For Your Kids From Dolly Parton!

We know Dolly Parton as an amazing singer and songwriter, but she’s also known as “The Book Lady” for her work promoting childhood literacy. The legendary performer sends kids free books and if you sign up with her organization Imagination Library, they’ll send them to your kid too.

On the group’s website, you can register your preschooler to receive a book each month until they turn five. The books are chosen by education experts and tailored to your little one’s age and you can join no matter what your income level is.

Parton started the Imagination Library back in 1995 in Sevier County, Tennessee, where the star is from. She wanted to inspire a love of reading among youngsters there and now that desire has spread - kids across the U.S. and the world can get in on the free book program.

“I know there are children in your community with their own dreams. They dream of becoming a doctor or an inventor or a minister. Who knows, maybe there is a little girl whose dream is to be a writer and singer,” Dolly writes in an open letter on the website. “The seeds of these dreams are often found in books and the seeds you help plant in your community can grow across the world.”

Libraries are wonderful, but they’re not accessible to everyone all the time. And nothing beats getting to build up your child’s own library at home for free! Thanks, Dolly for helping our kids dream big and love reading.
