DDG: Man Donates Kidney To Save Girl In Honor Of His Late Daughter

After losing his eight-year-old daughter, Sarah, to a rare kidney disease despite a kind stranger donating a kidney to save her, Andy Emmott felt compelled to pay that kindness forward. When he learned about Amber, an 11-year-old girl in desperate need of a kidney transplant, he knew he had to help. The similarities between Amber and Sarah inspired Andy to step forward, and he was thrilled to find out he was a perfect match.

The Tadcaster, England, 55-year-old recently underwent a successful transplant surgery. Both he and Amber are now recovering well, and Andy has returned to light office duties at his job with Northern Powergrid. His manager, Amanda White, praised his selflessness, calling his actions “amazing.” She expressed pride in Andy’s decision, saying it has changed Amber’s life in an incredible way.

In Sarah’s memory, Andy continues to raise funds for Theodora Children’s Charity, an organization that brings joy and laughter to children facing medical challenges. He shared his gratitude for the impact the charity had on Sarah’s life and encourages others to contribute to its mission of bringing comfort to children in need.
