Daily Do Good: Door-To-Door Salesman Saves Woman’s Life After Collapse

College student and Vivint home security salesman Jared Adler was talking to Maritza Bautista on the front porch of her Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, home when she suddenly fainted from the heat. "It took a couple of seconds to kind of realize what was going on,” Adler recalls, “I went ahead and just kind of did what I thought was right, and got the ambulance here as quick as possible.” He then started performing CPR on Bautista.

After emergency workers took over caring for Bautista, Adler stuck around to watch over her children. "She had three young kids inside and nobody able to take care of them,” he says. “So I just walked inside, told them everything was going to be okay, and I called their dad."

Once recovered, Bautista expressed her gratitude to Adler. "The fact that he took this big role upon himself to not only help me, but come inside and check on my kids, that really meant the world to me,” she says. The experience has given her a whole new outlook on door-to-door salespeople. "Trust these guys a little bit,” she says, “They're out here working really, really hard, and you never know, they could be saving your life."
