DDG: Amazon Delivery Driver Saves Dog Drowning In Backyard Pool

An Amazon driver delivered the best thing ever when he saved a dog from drowning on his route. John Cassabria was making deliveries in Woburn, Massachusetts when he saw a dog struggling to swim in a backyard pool. Without hesitating, he jumped in to save him.

The driver didn’t even stop to take his phone, watch, or wallet out, he says, “none of that mattered.” All he was focused on was rescuing Luka, a 14-year-old dog who has issues with his hind legs. His owner, Julie Caldwell, says Luka doesn’t swim because of that and he wouldn’t have lasted long in the pool without Cassabria’s help. He even stayed with the dog for an hour and a half until his dog sitter arrived.

To recognize the driver for his heroic actions, Caldwell sent a letter to Amazon’s CEO Jeff Bezos. “Words cannot express how grateful we are to him,” it reads. “Luka is doing fine thanks to your wonderful and courageous employee.”
