Official Stops Police From Displaying ‘Thin Blue Line’ American Flag

Officials in Maryland are feuding over demands that a "Blue Lives Matter" flag be removed from a Montgomery County police station. On Wednesday, Montgomery County Police posted a photo to social media showing three officers posing with the flag, which is meant to show support for first responders, but is also associated by some with white nationalists. In response, Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich ordered the flag to be removed, calling it divisive, and adding that it won't be posted in any public space within the department. Maryland Governor Larry Hogan fired back, saying he's "offended and disgusted" that Elrich has prohibited police from displaying the flag.
